The Great Outdoors

We planned, we packed, and we went...CAMPING! If you know me, you know I am not a wilderness fan: dirt, trees, and campfires are not my idea of a good time. I am perfectly content with my air conditioning, running water, and electricity. So you may find it hard to believe that it was my idea to go camping. No that is not a typo, I suggested that on my first full weekend off in almost a year, we go camping. What was I thinking?
It's hard to find a word to explain how excited the kids were, lets just say they were Ecstatic!

Santa Came Early

Wednesday night Kylee and Matthew went to play at their cousin's house while David and I went to "Church." When we got home there was a silver envelope with a bow on it, taped to the front door. Kylee opened the letter and saw that it was from Santa, both kids were gleaming with excitement. As David read the letter Matthew shouted out "I want a four wheeler, with a key!" To his disappointment David explained that Santa found a dog at the doctor who didn't have a home for Christmas and he knew that the kids missed Piper and would take good care of this dog. The letter explained that he had to bring her early because he couldn't fit her in his sled on Christmas, but if they are good he would come back with more presents on Christmas. There was no dog in the yard so we headed inside where we found a trail of dog bones ALL around the house leading to the laundry room where there was a bow on the door. When the kids opened the door, Emmy ran out wearing a Santa hat. It was so fun to see their reactions.

Out of the Mouth of a 3 year old

Where to begin? Well, between me working, David in school and working with the Fire Dept., Kylee in school, and Matthew being that typical 3 year old, we stay BUSY! David and I like to spend some of our time together cooking (well, I like to think he likes it!). Since our family isn't that big, we sometimes invite others over to share our home cooked meals. Last week we decided to have the missionaries come for dinner. I prepared the kids and told them who was coming. Nana came to visit before dinner and Kylee explained to her that the "bishops" where coming and Matthew quickly replied, "No Kylee, the missionFARIES are coming!"
